Welcome to Epigrafix, the home of high-quality, personalised engraving.

Based in Bradford, in the county of West Yorkshire, England, Epigrafix is an engraving business with a specialism in graphics, image, and logo work.

When Epigrafix first began, we dealt only with little items like pet tags and keyrings. However, as time passed, and friends kept turning up with peculiar things they wanted engraving too, we branched out into gifts, and before we knew it, we were doing business signs, nameplates, trophies, jewellery, electronics, cutlery, and everything else you can imagine too.

At the same time, when we started, we only engraved text (what else is there, after all?) until someone asked if they could have a picture done, and quite at once we ended up in a whole new world of engraving imagery like logos, handwriting, baby hand and footprints, and so on. What really surprised us is how few other people do this, and we've realised that this is an an aspect of our business that's actually quite unique.

We have remained, however, a three-person (well, sort of) team, meaning that the service we provide is particular and personal. We know all of our customers by name and can tailor our services to suit almost any requirements. Read more about the Epigrafix team members below.

John

Having spent twelve years working as a mechanic, John is a serial qualification-collector and has certificates in everything from plumbing to brick laying to welding. John's hobby outside of work is the guitar, and in particular, endlessly trying to learn the solos from Sweet Child o’ Mine. We wish him the best of luck with that.

Not surprisingly, John is excellent with mechanical objects, tools, and pointy things, so he handles the hardware side of the business, such as setting up the CNC machines, wielding micrometers, and collecting tools, torches, and gadgets.

Claire

After many years at university, Claire will be completing a doctorate in linguistics by Christmas (she hopes!), and is a university lecturer in linguistics, including forensic linguistics and computer-mediated communication. Outside of work and study, she can usually be found in the vicinity of horses and is currently preparing for dressage season at her yard.

Claire is the computer wrangler of the trio, and does all the software preparation, graphic designing, formatting, surfing, and Lexulous winning.

Charlie

Primarily employed in a supervisory capacity, Charlie is also on hand to shield computer users from harmful monitor rays by standing directly in the way of the screen, and to keep important pieces of paper securely in place by sprawling on them (see pic below).

Charlie, formerly with the Cats Protection, is now a long-term employee and a perfect addition to the team. Charlie loves a bit of fanmail, so feel free to send him rescue stories, lolcats, and general adulation.

Finally...

Together, Charlie, Claire and John realised that what is missing in the world is an inspired, professional, all-terrain engraving service that brings the personalisation of precious objects into the 21st century. After a lot of careful planning, Epigrafix was born. This winning team of man, woman, and cat, means that every item from Epigrafix is engraved with the strongest attention to detail, and only the very highest-quality results are allowed to leave the workshop.

(By the way, if you're wondering about the origins of the name Epigrafix, then an epigraph is actually an inscription, whilst epigraphy is the study of inscriptions, or epigraphs, and is a major field of research in archaeology. There now. Learn something new every day, eh?)
